A growing number of tech startups, new technology devices and ideas made their way to the Consumer Electronic Show this year. There were more than 1,50,000 visitors from over 150 countries and certain trends made a lasting impression on the minds of all visitors. We bring you some of the best tech trends we felt would be a game changer in 2016 from the CES.

Wearables

Wearables are getting bigger and bigger! Every body part is ready to be fitted with sensors and we saw a huge collection of wearables at the CES.

For team sports, wearables on the wrist are difficult. So, Montreal’s Hexoskin announced a new smart shirt, which measures its wearer’s cardiac and breathing activity. UA(Under Armour) has also come up with a number of fitness tracking wearables like UA Band, UA Heart Rate, UA Body Scale etc.

Maintaining your fitness and health goals is going to be easier.

HDR Television

Ultra High definition or 4K TVs are in. Gone are the days of curved TVs, 3D TVs and the like. Better colour ranges, better whites and 4 times the pixels of HD TVs. You get the drift, right? But techies believe 4K will be the trend of the future and will not fizzle out like 3D television.

You will need to watch out for amazing 4K TVs from Samsung, Sony etc.which have to be seen to be believed. Check out flipkart to have a look at some 4K Smart TVs available with offers.

Drones

We’ve been hearing of drones time and again. The CES 16’ was flooded with a number of unmanned drones right from inexpensive toys, to collision avoiders.

For example, an announcement came from Intel at its press conference where it demonstrated the Yuneec Typhoon H, announced at CES 2016, fitted with a module using Intel’s RealSense technology for automated collision avoidance.

Virtual Reality

Virtual reality was one of the biggest attractions at this Year’s CES. Leading brands like Sony, Samsung, HTC and others are all coming up with their own version of goggles. You can actually wear them and look ‘into the screen’ of your video game.

The HTC’s, Vive Pre has a front-facing camera for detecting its wearer’s surroundings and keeping him or her from walking into things. It’s a mind-blowing experience, but it still needs a high-powered computer to work.

Smart Watches

The future is going to be about smart watches. No longer will you be needed to check your mobile periodically for updates. The present day smart watches are wearable computers. We loved the Huawei smart watch for women, which has 68 Swarovski crystals.

The Internet of Things

Now, this might be a new term for many! IoT basically means interconnecting all household gadgets like dishwasher, ovens, door locks, thermostats etc. One of the first steps we saw towards this at the CES was the Family Hub Refrigerator of Samsung with cameras inside the fridge, which helps you decide purchases as you look for empty shelves from the grocery store.

Right now the home security system with cameras is doing well.
